Gerald’s purpose is to impact the lives of those at the Bottom of the Pyramid. He intends to improve access to financial services like savings, credit, insurance and pension through the use of technology. He is an advocate for instant inclusive payments. Gerald helps governments, entrepreneurs, development partners, private sector stakeholders and financial institutions develop sustainable inclusive solutions. He believes profit in the BoP markets is the applause for doing things right and doing the right things for the poor.

He has experience in retail banking and corporate banking and digital financial services. He was part of the team that successfully launched EcoCash (a payment services company) in Zimbabwe, a brand that was described as a sprinter by GSMA 6 months after launch. He is currently working with FinTechs and MFI to come up with payment, e-commerce and trade platforms that speak to the poor. He worked with COMESA Business Council in investigating whether there is a business case for instant inclusive retail cross-border payment systems for the COMESA region. A study that forms the base in terms of policy and business in all the developments happening in that region.
