Mika has over 20 years of experience working in the financial services sector specifically in Electronic Funds Transfer (EFTs), Card, and Mobile Money platforms. Her experience in the financial sector includes Clearing/switching and Settlement of financial transactions. Mika’s expertise also includes the formulation of business rules for the EFTs, Card and Mobile Money platforms and enforcing them on the participants.
Mika holds a Master of Business Administration with Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University UK; Bachelor of Business – major in Management and in Economics with Edith Cowan University, Australia; Higher Diploma in Information Data Processing Management with Institute of Data Processing and Management, UK.
Mika has a strong understanding of Instant Payments having graduated from the Digital Frontiers Institute in Instant and Inclusive Payment Systems (IIPS).
Currently consulting with COMESA Business Council (CBC) in implementing the second phase of the Digital Financial Inclusion Plan, focusing on developing the business model, governance and operational aspects of the CBC payment platform; and development and operationalization of the digital payment platform including capacity building for MSMEs in the COMESA region.
